food for thought.

compliments of advertising agency McCann Erickson.
Anyone could make ads. The ingredients to "perfect" advertising? 3 components: Sex, Animals, & Children.

blast from the past.

I was just looking through some old work that I had done when I first started working for Diesel as a VM.
I came across this photo of the "cool" window from Spring Summer '10!

awe, brings back some memories!

birds eye view.

Welcome to the inside of the store's entrance.
Recently added old "be stupid" POP to brick wall.
Keep an eye out for the new preview Spring/Summer '11 pictures.
I am in the process of adding the new apparel this week!
a big goodbye to the Be Stupid campaign!! .. Finally.

Clue Advertising.

This is so genius! The soap in the bathroom's soap dispensers is dyed red,
so it looks like the person washing their hands
is trying to wash off the evidence.
Amazing.

more stupid.

The Stupid elephant ads.

My window.

new window set. completed 10/15

The concept behind this window is "Stupid is Fearless."
 A rebel is fearless.

In order to complete this window, I had the stock girl roam the alley ways
of center city Philadelphia to shamelessly dumpster dive with me.

The goal was to find rubbish that mimicked what might be found during a rebellion.
I think our prize find was the nitrous tanks found thrown away by a dumpster.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought disposing of nitrous tanks was illegal????
Like, isn't there some special way you have to go about it?

Oh well, they're now set up very nicely in my window display.

BE STUPID.

Some of Diesel's "Be Stupid" Ad campaigns are funny.
Some are just plain, well... stupid.

As the visual merchandiser for Diesel's Philadelphia store, I am constantly bombarded with the stupidity that is Diesel. A lot of my work on this blog will probably be a critique of their advertisements, work that I've done for the company, or some type of inspiration that came out of the work that I do for this brand.

With that said, I welcome you to my blog with a few of my favorite
 "BE STUPID" ads
& two of my very own.

Enjoy.

This is my own spin on Diesel's BE STUPID Ad campaigns.
That's me in the picture.
Smart knows where to eat, Stupid knows what to eat.

Lastly, My friend Joe and I.
Stupid is as Stupid does..

I guess the lesson to be learned here is, a little stupid never hurt nobody.
Be Stupid people.
Ciao for now.
